All the entries for this year’s Woodley Christmas Extravaganza poster contest

Talented school children enter contest to create posters for light switch-on and family fun day

THE WINNERS of a contest to design a poster for Woodley’s Winter Extravaganza will switch on the Christmas lights tonight, but their entries weren’t the only fabulous ones this year.

The youngsters, all from Woodley schools, were tasked with the challenge to create artwork to promote the Christmas light switch-on on Saturday, November 24, and the annual festive fun day on Sunday, December 2.

The top two winners will push the buttons to turn on the Christmas lights in Woodley during the carol singing party from 4.30pm on November 24.

The winners were Roxanne Allen (8) from St Dominic Savio, Haleema Saeed (11) from Highwood Primary School and in joint third place Sasha Tarvin (9) from Southlake Primary School and Yvie Hardy (9) from St Nicholas CE Primary School.

And here we present all the entries to this year’s contest – they are also printed in this week’s Wokingham Paper, on sale in all good newsagents until the new issue comes out on Thursday, November 29.
