A BODY has been found in woods near Wargrave, causing police officers to call off the search for a missing man.
On Tuesday, June 18, 25-year-old Andrew Southworth was reported as missing.
An appeal was issued yesterday by Thames Valley Police, and they also carried out a search of the local area.
On Wednesday, June 19, the body of a man was found in a wooded area near to Highfield Lane.
Thames Valley Police said that although formal identification has yet to take place, the man is believed to be Andrew Southworth.
Detective Constable Maggie Bruce, of Force CID based at Reading police station, said: “Sadly, following searches carried out by officers, a man’s body has been found.
“His next of kin have been informed.
“I would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal and assisted us in our investigation.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
