A train has broken down at Wokingham, and as a result there are delays this evening.

National Rail has warned that services between Reading and Blackwater/Ascot will be delayed or cancelled until around 10pm.

It affects services on the Great Western Railway and South Western Railway lines.

According to National Rail’s live departure boards, some services are running up to 46 minutes late, while others, such as the 1953 service from Reading to London Waterloo has been cancelled.

Services have been affected in both directions.

A note on South Western Railway’s website reads: “We have been informed that a train has broken down between Wokingham and Reading. Until the issue with the train is rectified, or the train is rescued, trains may be delayed, cancelled or revised.

“For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.

“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”
