Eversley & California Chiefs celebrate boot bag donation from Vale & West

Eversley & California Chiefs successfully claimed their under-13s league title earlier this year and they have already bagged their boots for next season – thanks to a surprise sponsorship by Thames Valley accountants Vale & West.

Chiefs squad players and officials proudly showed off their league-winners’ trophies and their smart new boot bags in team colours at the East Berkshire Football Alliance presentation this month.

The sponsorship support came about because Reading-based Vale & West is this year celebrating the 125th anniversary of its foundation in 1894 as a chartered accountants’ practice. Vale & West staff were invited to suggest Thames Valley community activities for worthy support.

The firm’s tax manager Samantha Timberlake didn’t have to look far. Her husband Gary is team manager and her son Alfie plays in Chiefs’ 17-strong squad – which needed some new boot bags.

The ongoing 125-year business success of Vale & West’s independent accountancy partnership, was matched by the Chiefs in their first under-13’s 11-a-side season. They won all of their games bar one in amassing a league-winning 30-point total.
