EVERY STEP COUNTS: Inspiration from the movies

Personal fitness with Chris Hunt

It’s now the first weekend of March and again I cannot quite believe that another month has gone so quick.

Time flies when you are having fun and this month has certainly been just that.

Work hard, play hard is my motto.

These days the “play” element has been toned down somewhat due to age, family commitments, work and overall priority goals but right now take stock what you have achieved this month.

What have you achieved?

What has been a success this month?

What opportunities are there to grow in the coming month of March?

For me in this last month, the following has been a success and both an opportunity for further growth:

  • Passed my first module for my psychology masters.
  • Worked with two new clients helping them on their journey to be the best that they can possibly be.
  • Further increased my client roster with client purely on a state of mind and psychology basis.
  • Celebrated my wife’s 30th birthday having an awesome weekend with family and friends.
  • Found out we are having our fourth daughter due in July this year.
  • Achieved various business goals previously unattained.

There are many more too, but you get the vibe, right?

It’s all about achieving and exceeding goals and then pushing on further to keep working on yourself and keep being AWESOME.

So, in relation to that this week, I want to share with you some awesome short quotes that I want to motivate you with.

Now, if you were in my private unit, The Hub, you would see some of these or at least hear about some of these when it comes to motivation.

MOTIVATION and ATTITUDE are so important in life and hopefully this week, I can really kickstart your efforts further in your quest to becoming the most AWESOME version of yourself. What we waiting for then?

Let’s delve right in shall we:

“Don’t ever let somebody tell you that you can’t do something, not even me. You got a dream, you gotta protect it. You want something, go get it. Period.”

The quote above is from the Pursuit of Happyness starring Will Smith, an absolute legend. It’s so true, you must go out and get your results, go grab your opportunities. Be the cause of your success. Be the one that starts the movement.

On that note … what you waiting for? Go for it.

“When we add up all those […] inches, that’s what makes the difference between winning and losing”

What a film, can you remember what top draw film that was from?

Any Given Sunday starring Al Pacino.

The American Football drama is a real belter and hard hitting at times. The point is applicable throughout life too – it’s the people who go that extra mile who tend to find success more often than not.

And sometimes, it’s the sum of all the small parts which lead you to victory. Success is all about the incremental changes you make in your routines.

It’s the 1% changes that all add up. If you make a 1% change every day for 100 days, then after 100 days you will have a 100% improvement in your life. How does that sound?

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

“You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward.

“That’s how winning is done!”

Well said Rocky. The world is cruel.

The world doesn’t give you something for nothing. You get out what you put in so start putting in some serious work. When you get hit, get back up and keep moving forward. Don’t see failures as failures, see them as opportunities to grow and really develop as a person.

“There should be no boundaries to human endeavour. We are all different. However bad life may seem, there is always something you can do, and succeed at. While there’s life, there is hope.”

From the great man, Stephen Hawking in the film The Theory of Everything.

I love that quote for so many reasons. We are all different so enjoy being different. Don’t be vanilla like I have said before, be the most fruity, rich, tasty, unique, mesmerising flavour that you can be.

“Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse, wouldn’t quit. He struggled so hard that eventually he churned that cream into butter and crawled out. Gentlemen, as of this moment, I am that second mouse.”

I have left this quote for last as I have watched this film so many times. I love Leonardo Di Caprio, I think he is an awesome actor and I also really like the film.

All films that are based on a true story really resonate deep with me as it shows what is possible.

What an unbelievable film and an unbelievable story. The quote as spoken by his dad in the film “Catch me if you can” is saying that never giving up is key.

Persistence pays off and mental toughness when the going gets tough is what you need. Do you want to drown or do you want to survive?

Be YOU this week but be the best version of YOU.

Be YOU this week and give it your all staying true to your values.

Be YOU this week and don’t be scared of standing out for being AWESOME compared with everyone else…

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things.

They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. (Steve Jobs)

Happy Sunday… Smash your goals and exceed expectations… You never know what you may achieve.
