Forest School students take home more than 65% A* to C grades on A-level results day

A-level students at Winnersh’s Forest School secured more than 65% A*-C grades this year.

Headteacher Shirley Austin said: “Congratulations to all students and staff on their preparation and performance. Once again we are delighted to celebrate their hard work, determination and their success, and wish them all the best for the future, whatever they choose to do.”

There were also particularly positive results from Sciences, Geography and English.

Sam Jordan, who achieved three A*s and an A in Further Maths, will be heading off to Cambridge to study Engineering, with the hope of specialising in Aeronautical engineering.

He said: “I did look at 7.30am on the website…but then I fell asleep again. My mum was in hysterics when she found out. It’s particularly exciting because I’m a triplet, and my sister got into Oxford while my brother got into Bath. We are all so competitive.”

His friend Ellis Morgan will be heading to Exeter, to study Economics with his results, A*AA.

Tom Davis, from the University of Bath will be studying Economics and Politics with A*BB grades, and Toby Nave will be joining him, studying Maths after achieving A*A*A grades.

Tom said: “I was nervous this morning for 15 minutes before I knew for sure I had got into Bath.”

Other pupils deserving special mention include: Alex Phillips, who secured one A* and three As, and Joel Hemming who received As across the board, Hannah Jones who achieved two As and one B, and Hannah Carolan who secured one A* and two Bs.
