MORE THAN 200 customers of Hare Hatch Sheeplands enjoyed a thank you party at the plant nursery last Thursday.

They were celebrating the official opening of the recently approved garden shop. Guests enjoyed a buffet meal and drinks.

In his welcoming speech Rob Scott from Sheeplands said: “This is our way of saying thank you to all those loyal customers who supported us during our planning difficulties.

“You wrote letters, signed petitions and generally made it clear that we are valued within the local community. You all played a very important part in our success for which we are very grateful.”

During the party guests were offered the chance to go on a guided tour, which included a look behind the scenes where an impressive 120,000 geraniums were growing along with a full range of other plants.

To mark the opening of the garden shop Andrea Burlingham from Sheeplands cut a ribbon across the entrance, after which customers were able to browse and buy.
