IN THE COMMUNITY: Concert to mark Reading Refugee Support Group’s anniversary

Reading Refugee Support Group

Reading Refugee Support Group is to celebrate their 25th anniversary with a concert in Reading Concert Hall next month.

The event is taking place on Monday, November 4 from 7pm until 10.30pm.

It will be hosted by BBC Radio 3 presenter Fiona Talkington, with a mix of fun, thought-provoking, and vibrant stories, music, theatre and fashion.

There will also be a special address from the patron of the charity, Lord Alf Dubs.

The main event will be followed by after-show Drinks in The Victoria Hall, as the photography exhibition Refugees of Reading by celebrated local photographer Salvo Toscano is unveiled for the first time.

Tickets to this event are free but booking is essential. Free tickets can be booked at rrsgis25.eventbrite.co.uk or www.rrsg.org.uk.

The charity’s work supporting some of the most vulnerable people in Reading was recently recognised by the queen – the monarch awarded it The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. The award is the highest honour a voluntary organisation in the UK can receive, and RRSG were one of only four Berkshire organisations to receive it.
