Still time to enter Twyford Together’s family fun run

THE CLOSING date for entries for a popular family fun run is fast approaching.

Twyford Together is organising the annual event which takes place on Sunday, October 7 from 9am at King George V’s Memorial Field.

There are races for pre-school ages upwards running throughout the morning, and Twyford Together is offering a £100 cash prize for the school that has the most entrants.

The fun starts at 9.30am with a pre-school toddle. The next race is for reception and years 1 and 2 and is a 1km race that starts at 9.45am.

Years 3 and 4 will also be able to run a 1km, with their race starting at 10.05am.

A presentation will take place for these races at 10.25am.

At 10.45am, parents, business teams and Year 10 upwards can take part in a 2km race, which will be followed at 11am by a Twyford Comets event.

Years 5 and 6 will race at 11.20am, before the final race, for years 7-9, takes place at 11.40am.

A presentation of prizes will take place from noon.

All races are organised by Barnes Fitness and places cost £6 in advance or £8 on the day (cash only), or £3 for pre-schoolers (£5 on the day). Advance places close on Tuesday.

Winners will go to the first, second and third places in each race, and each entrant will receive a medal and a banana, donated by Waitrose.

Twyford District Youth and Community Centre will be serving hot refreshments and there will be a bouncy castle, face painting and crafts to enjoy on a stall run by Haa Hoos.

Proceeds from the day will be shared among the Twyford Charities Together fund.
