Wokingham borough mayor leads welcome for new Earley base of IT disposal firm Wisetek

UK operations will be based at Suttons Business Park

TEN new jobs will be created following the opening of a new hi-tech centre for leading IT firm, Wisetek.

Wokingham mayor Cllr John Kaiser officially opened the Earley operations base which could see staff number increase next year.

Wisetek is a global leader in advanced IT asset disposal, data destruction, technology reuse and manufacturing services.

And now it is based in Suttons Business Park, just on the edge of the borough.

Company CEO, Sean Sheehan, said: “London is the second most connected place for technology in the world after Silicon Valley, and the UK technology sector is growing almost three times as fast as the overall economy.

“As Wisetek expands across the globe, it is a logical step for the company to enter the market. Wisetek’s expansion into the United Kingdom is a strategic decision to bring our unique data destruction and IT asset disposal operations to the thriving tech industry and business community in Britain,” Sheehan continued.

Paul Britton, CEO at Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, commented: “We welcome the addition of Wisetek to the region and the growing cluster of IP-rich, technology-based firms choosing the Thames Valley.

“Their investment reaffirms the proven strength of the region for new, high growth, investors.  Working in collaboration with our partners, the Department for International Trade, we were pleased to help Wisetek with their company set-up, providing access to sector experts, support and regional networks.”

Dennis Frize, an experienced IT asset end-of-life solutions architect, will head up the organisation as Managing Director of Wisetek UK: “I am delighted to lead Wisetek’s expansion in introducing the strategic benefits of circular economy processes to the UK market.

“The greater Reading, Berkshire area is a hub for technology and our new facility will serve as a springboard to service our existing and new clients in the UK and across Europe.”

The UK expansion for Wisetek is another significant development for the international footprint of the company.

As well as its facilities in Cork and Dublin in Ireland, the company has a strong presence in the United States, Thailand and the Middle East.

The UK’s new MD, Dennis Frize, previously held senior roles at Ingram Micro and Iron Mountain.
