Wokingham Library to host talk on ethical farming on Monday

A TALK at Wokingham Library on Monday will look at issues involved in ethical farming.

The event runs from 10.30am to noon and aims to tackle a range of popular questions relating to the food that we eat.

They include a look at farm animal welfare, the environment and health.

There will be an exploration of the different food labels that are used to help advise consumers as to what is in the food they eat.

There will also be an exploration of issues relating to meat eating including how halal slaughter methods are implemented, and whether farmed fish is an ethical choice for consumers.

And there will also be a look at the future of farming including issues from factory farming, mega farms and live animal exports.

The talk costs £3 to attend and places should be booked in advance.

For more details, call the library on 0118 978 1368.
